Professional Practice

Philip joined chambers in October 2019. He specialises in matrimonial finance, cohabitation claims, financial provision for children and private children law, including relocation.

During pupillage, Philip assisted with financial remedy cases before High Court Judges and in the Court of Appeal. He is now led by silks and senior juniors in such cases and is increasingly instructed to advise on complex jurisdiction, computation and enforcement issues.

  • Publications and Lecturing

    • Philip lectures on topical issues in family law. Recent talks have addressed the Thwaite jurisdiction and the current trend in favour of making costs orders, including in needs cases.

  • Personal Information

    After studying politics at Queen Mary, University of London, Philip converted to law and undertook an LLM at UCL. He was the recipient of the Joseph Jackson Scholarship from Middle Temple for his BPTC.

    Philip sings in the London Philharmonic Choir and speaks fluent German.
