‘Crossing the Minefield in International Cases’ – 29 Bedford Row welcomes Michael Nicholls KC tomorrow (14 May) to give a presentation on the modern jurisdictional rules in children cases (private and public law) in England & Wales.

The event, which is being held in chambers from 6.15pm to 9pm, is an opportunity to hear Michael share his extensive experience of international and domestic family law and human rights. 

He was called to the Bar in London in 1975, appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2006, and admitted to practice in Western Australia in 2009. He has been an expert in family law at the Hague Conference and the Council of Europe, and a visiting lecturer at the Academy of European Law at Trier. His international practice includes jurisdiction disputes, child abduction, relocation and surrogacy cases.

Michael has written and lectured extensively about international family law. His most recent book, which has been written with Professor Nigel Lowe and is about to be published by LexisNexis/Family Law, is about the 1996 Hague Child Protection Convention.
