29 Bedford Row in partnership with Resolution is proud to be pioneering the use of the Collaborative Process by family barristers. 17 members of Chambers have already been trained in Collaborative Law and Chambers is committed to promoting and furthering the process. We are the first set of chambers to provide an active practice group of collaboratively trained barristers.

Collaborative Law is a relatively new process which aims to avoid court proceedings by allowing separating couples to resolve their difficulties by discussion. Each person retains a collaborative lawyer who will provide advice and support. Issues are resolved by way of a series of face to face meetings, rather than by correspondence and court hearings. The fundamental aim of the collaborative process is that by way of a team approach based on openness and honesty and a commitment not to litigate, couples will be able to resolve their differences by themselves together with the support of their collaborative lawyers.

Collaboratively trained Barristers at 29 Bedford Row are available to act both as jointly instructed experts or by way of sole instruction where both clients require the use of Counsel.
