James Shortall [Senior Clerk]
Responsible for the day-to-day running of chambers, James has been clerking since March 1995. James joined chambers in June 2001 and was swiftly promoted to Senior Clerk in March 2004. James has a comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of every member of chambers and their practice which, when coupled with his 'can do' approach, makes for a friendly, professional, and efficient service. He is widely praised for his enthusiasm and his friendly and approachable nature. |

Julie Holcombe [First Junior]
Julie has been part of our clerking team since January 2002 after crossing over from Crown Office Chambers. She has extensive clerking experience, which dates back to 1995. She has a sound knowledge of chambers, which enables her to provide a first class service to our clients. |

Hudson Brewer [First Junior]
Hudson started as a Junior clerk at 1 Kings Bench Walk back in 1994. He then worked in chambers in Sydney, Australia, before heading the Family Team at Hardwicke Buildings. He then joined Julie as First Junior in June 2004. His clear understanding of our barristers ensures our high level of service is maintained. Hudson is also the designated Clerk for Children (Public Law) Team. |

Ben Cross
Ben started clerking in September 2001 at 22 Old Buildings (Now 42 Bedford Row) where he was well trained. We were lucky enough to lure him away in September 2007. He plays a vital role in assisting Hudson and Julie in the day to day running of the diary and also oversees the fixing of all cases. |

Sean Gentleman
Sean joined Chambers in October 2006 as a Junior Clerk. Having proved his ability and competence within that position along with his general clerking skills, Sean has recently acquired a new role. He now assists Ben with fixing of cases in addition to his day to day clerking duties. |

Sam Walker
Sam joined Chambers in October 2007 as a Junior Clerk. As a result of his hard work and competency he was promoted. In addition to his clerking duties, Sam oversees the two Junior Clerks, assisting them both in their development and when necessary lending a practical hand. |

Adam Cope
Adam joined Chambers in July 2008. He is a hardworking, competent and enthusiastic Junior Clerk. |

Jordan Segal
Jordan is our newest member of the clerking team, joining in September 2008. Working alongside Adam, he is also hardworking, competent and helpful in his role as Junior Clerk. |

Steve Pickin [Fees Clerk]
Before joining 29 Bedford Row Steve worked in the Customer Service/civil finance department of the LSC. Nothing could have given him a better grounding for his current role. He is responsible for all fee account management and his knowledge of this area is second to none. |

Sharon Driscoll [Assistant Fees Clerk]
Before joining chambers in March 2003 Sharon spent 13 years working as a listing officer in both the Principal Registry of The Family Division and the High Court. Sharon worked in the Clerks room for a few years before moving to the Fees Room. She now assists Steve with all areas of fee collection. |

Denise Emmerson
Denise joined 29 Bedford Row in May 2008. She has a wealth of experience regarding receptionist duties working in a variety of industries. She oversees the reception area, providing a warm, friendly and professional "front of house" environment. |

Nicola Applebee
Nicola joined Chambers in June 2008. Working closely with Denise, she deals with all receptionist duties and is part of providing a welcoming and professional environment to all that visit 29 Bedford Row. |

Nicola Kessell [Chambers Administrator]
Nicola joined chambers in June 2002 having spent 8 years in Finance/Admin/HR. She has sole responsibility for the facility management of chambers and can turn her hand to almost anything! Nothing is too much effort where Nicola is involved and she has become an invaluable member of the team. |
